Title: FMC150 sampling rate
Post by: teraeng on November 18, 2013, 01:50 PM
Is it possible to sample at 250 Msps with the ADC and output at 125 Msps with the DAC at the same time?  Can the internal clock be used which has a 491.52 MHz VCXO? If an external clock input is needed, what clock frequency would you recommed?  Thanks.

Dear Sir,

The default reference design configures the chipset in 245.76MHz ADC sample frequency and 122.88MHz DAC sample frequency.

The reference software application supports 800MHz, 737.28MHz, 542MHz and 491.52MHz all based on custom ordering options representing difference VCXO components assembled on the board.

The way we are testing FMC150 is in loopback mode, with the ADC running at 250MHz and the DAC running at 125MHz. The external clock provided is a 500MHz  +5dBm sine wave. This is equivalent of calling the reference application with 1 as value for 'clockmode' argument. So I guess you might want to take that path for your development and arrange a specific 500MHz option with my sales engineers.

Best Regards,
Arnaud

Thank you.  I am following up with your sales people.

Perfect, thank you for the feedback! I am locking the topic the issue being "resolved"
