Title: 3D CAD-files
Post by: htcnl on June 16, 2014, 05:39 AM
As a mechanical designer I need 3D CAD-files of products. Many suppliers offer them for catalog articles on their websites. Unfortunately 4DSP doesn't. 3D CAD-files come in various neutral file formats. For mechanical articles STEP and IGES are often used, while for electrical boards IDF is often used. IDF stands for Intermediate Data Format and was developed for the exchange of data between electrical end mechanical CAD-systems. It would be beneficial both for 4DSP and their customers if IDF-files were made available.

Dear Sir,

Your tone is surely not the most friendly, please try to change that otherwise the process will be unpleasant for everyone in the play. We do have these files for most of our products, they are just not public domain so you have got to ask for them upfront and nicely.

Best Regards,
Arnaud
