KC705 ethernet connection problem

(1/2) > >>

tedjnsn:
I could not establish a connection to KC705 with FMC150 over Ethernet

-FMC is on LPC, Ethernet cable that came with kit (is it supposed to be straight or crossover?)
-Programmed "156_kc705_fmc150.bit" from recovery folder using impact over usb jtag (what are expected LED status? What I see is that single GPIO LED closest to power switch is on after programming)
-run fmc15xapp.exe 1 KC705 3 0, where 3 is the fmc15xapp.exe listed ethernet port with kc705 atttached
-error message "could not obtain sipcid table (error ffffffff), exiting

FMC Analyzer reports the same error.

tedjnsn:
tried the same steps with 400_trainmat.bit and KC705trainingmaterial.exe from 4FM bins folder - same error message

arnaudNL:

Dear Sir,

This might indicate a communication problem between your KC705 and host computer. Please check CAREFULLY the FAQ (http://www.4dsp.com/forum/index.php?action=faq)

It is generally because firewall (on the machine, or external setup by the IT dpt in your company), an antivirus like Avast or that KC705 has wrong Ethernet settings (KC705 switch configuration).

We also seen that because the PATH environment variable does not contain C:\Program Files (x86)\4dsp\4FM Core Development Kit\Bins and C:\Program Files (x86)\4dsp\FMC Board Support Package\Bins this happens.

About the crossover thing, I am not sure if the PHY on the KC705 supports lane reversing or not.

Please let me know which BSP version you are using, we recently fixed a PATH issue.

Best Regards,
Arnaud

tedjnsn:
Dear Arnaud,

Thanks for the link and suggestions! It was indeed firewall settings. I changed it and everything started to work.
