The JPEG2000 is a wavelet-based digital imaging compression standard superseding the original discrete cosine transform-based JPEG compression method. 4DSP's JPEG2000 solution accelerate the next generation of image compression for digital cameras, 4G infrastructure and headsets systems. The compression rate is 25 times more efficient than the JPEG algorithms. The JPEG2000 daughter module can either encode the data prior or after the advanced video/imaging processing implemented in the dual Virtex-4 or dual Virtex-5 FPGA-base boards.

FP-LVDS

36 LVDS Pairs Daughter Card

The FP-LVDS is a daughter card to be used in conjunction with the FM48x range of products. The FP-LVDS brings 36 differential LVDS I/Os to the front panel of the mother board using two MICTOR-5767044-1 series connectors. These connectors easily mate with the PRECISION INTERCONNECT cable assemblies. Further also ESD protection diodes are used to provide protection against ESD pulses.

The maximum throughput rate can be increased up to 526 KSPS when using fewer channels.

The DAC281 daughter card converts 2 digital 14 bit inputs into two Analogue output signals. Conversion of the digital data is done up-to 840 Mb/s for data provided through the digital inputs. There are also two 16 Kb internal waveform memories in the DAC card that can be used to generated two analogue signals at 1000 Mb/s.
